Adoptable Dachshund Oreo (26-172) – Pending Adoption – No Longer Accepting Applications

🖤🤍 Meet Oreo! 🤍🖤

Oreo is a 6-year-old, 13 lb. female dachshund who is looking for a loving forever home! This sweet little girl is affectionate, friendly, and loves being close to both her people and her dachshund friends.

🐶 Other Dogs

Oreo is good with other small dogs and is friendly with the three dachshunds in her foster home. She did well when introduced to her foster family’s dogs and enjoys cuddling up with her canine friends once she’s comfortable.

Oreo could be happy as an only dog or as part of a pack.

🦮 Leash & Walks

Oreo has made great progress with the leash! The first time her foster put a leash on her, she was very frightened, but she now allows it without any problems.

She enjoys going for walks and will walk along with her foster, especially when they call her name to get her attention. She hasn’t learned to heel yet, so she’ll need someone willing to continue helping her with her leash skills.

For her safety, Oreo should always be kept on a leash or in a securely fenced yard when outside. Although she comes when called, it’s important that she always be kept safe and secure.

🏡 House Training

Oreo is not house trained yet, but she’s learning to use pee pads and is successful much of the time. She currently does not do her business while outside, so her new family will need to be patient and continue working with her on potty training.

💤 Crate & Sleeping

Oreo is calm in a crate and has slept peacefully in one overnight while recovering from her spay.

She has free rein of her foster home and doesn’t really use a dog bed. Her favorite place to nap is on the sofa next to her people. ❤️

🧸 Food & Toys

Oreo shows no food or toy aggression. She rarely plays with toys and seems much more interested in spending time with her people and canine friends.

🚗 Car Rides

Car rides aren’t Oreo’s favorite activity. For safety, she travels in a crate. She tolerates the ride but would much rather stay home cuddled up on the sofa!

❤️ Personality

Oreo is very friendly when meeting new people and does well meeting new dogs. She is not shy or timid and shows no signs of anxiety.

She isn’t bothered by thunderstorms or loud noises and is not an excessive barker.

Oreo is a sweet, affectionate little girl who, once settled in, loves cuddling with her people and other dogs. She’s looking for a family who will give her plenty of love while continuing to patiently work with her on house training.

Could Oreo be the little cookie missing from your family? 🖤🤍🐾 Adoption Fee: $300
