Adoptable Dachshund Mix Weinifer (26-202)

🐾 Meet Weinifer (Winnie) – A Fun-Loving, Goofy Girl Looking for Her Forever Family! 💕

🐶 Breed: Dachshund Mix
🎀 Gender: Female
🎂 Age: 7 Months
⚖️ Weight: 20 lbs.

💕 Meet Winnie!

If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, energetic puppy who will keep you smiling, look no further than Weinifer, affectionately known as Winnie! This adorable 7-month-old girl is full of personality, loves absolutely everybody, and has enough puppy energy to keep the whole family entertained!

Her foster mom describes Winnie as one of the sweetest dogs she’s met in a very long time! She’s incredibly smart, playful, goofy, and always ready for her next adventure. Whether she’s racing around the yard with the zoomies, playing with her doggie friends, or bringing an entire tree branch into the house (yes, she’s done that several times!), Winnie knows how to make life interesting! 😂🌳

🐕 Good with Other Dogs?
Absolutely! Winnie LOVES other dogs and wants to play ALL the time! She was raised with a 90 lb. Pitbull and currently enjoys playing with her foster family’s little 12 lb. dogs. She doesn’t care about size—she just wants everyone to be her friend! A playful canine companion would be wonderful for this energetic girl.

🐱 Good with Cats?
Yes! Winnie is very good with cats, although she does want to play with them. A dog-savvy cat who doesn’t mind an enthusiastic puppy would be the best match.

👧 Good with Children?
Winnie does well with children ages 12 and older. Her experience with younger children is unknown. Her foster mom believes Winnie would thrive with an active family and older children who enjoy playing with her and helping her burn off that puppy energy!

🦮 Leash Training & Walks
Winnie hasn’t had much experience walking on a leash. Her previous family had a yard and didn’t take her on walks, and her foster family hasn’t yet had the opportunity to work on leash training. With patience, consistency, and her eagerness to learn, Winnie has great potential!

🏡 House Training
Winnie is still working on her potty training, but she’s making progress! Her foster family has been working diligently with her, and she’s beginning to understand the routine. Because the other dogs in her foster home use potty pads, Winnie is learning to use them too. Her forever family will need to continue her training with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.

🛏️ Crate Training & Sleeping Habits
Although Winnie was raised using a crate, she really doesn’t enjoy being confined. Her foster mom doesn’t believe regular crating is the best fit for her. However, Winnie does sleep in her crate and dog bed at night and is very well-behaved at bedtime.

She loves a comfy dog bed, but she’d also be perfectly happy curling up in your lap for some snuggle time! 💕

🦴 Food, Toys & Puppy Mischief
Winnie shows no food or toy aggression. She LOVES toys and absolutely loves to chew! Being only 7 months old, she still has plenty of puppy behaviors, including finding interesting things to bring inside from the yard. Her foster mom says she’s brought several tree branches into the house in just one week!

Winnie will need plenty of appropriate chew toys, supervision, and activities to keep her busy. She’s a puppy through and through!

🚗 Car Rides
Winnie enjoys car rides and is happy to come along for an adventure!

❤️ Personality & Meeting New Friends
Winnie is a social butterfly! She loves meeting new people and dogs and isn’t shy or timid in the slightest. Everyone she meets is a potential new best friend!

She’s affectionate without being overly demanding. She doesn’t beg, isn’t a big slobbery kisser, and is perfectly happy simply being near her people.

She’s also not an excessive barker! She generally only barks when someone comes to the door or when the other dogs in her foster home start barking.

🐾 Being Home Alone & Anxiety
Winnie has shown no signs of separation anxiety. She’s a happy, confident little girl who enjoys being part of the action but doesn’t appear to become anxious when left alone.

🧠 Smart as a Whip!
Don’t let Winnie’s goofy personality fool you—this girl is SMART!

She’s already learned the commands “stay,” “stop,” and “down.” Her foster mom believes that with a little time and consistent training, Winnie will be a quick learner. At just 7 months old, she’s at the perfect age to continue developing good habits and becoming an amazing family companion.

🌳 Winnie’s Ideal Forever Home

Winnie’s foster mom feels strongly that this special girl belongs with an active family who can give her the exercise, playtime, attention, and guidance she needs.

Her ideal home would include:

  • 🏡 A securely fenced yard is a must! Winnie absolutely loves being outside, running, exploring, and getting her zoomies out.

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 An active family with plenty of time and energy for a playful puppy.

  • 🧒 Older children, ages 12 and up, who would enjoy playing with her.

  • 🐕 A playful canine companion would be a wonderful bonus!

  • 🦴 Lots of toys, safe chew items, and opportunities to burn off energy.

  • 💕 A patient family committed to continuing her house training, leash training, and puppy manners.
