🍯 Meet Honey – A Sweet Little Girl Looking for Her Safe Place! 🐾❤️
🐶 Name: Honey
💕 Breed: Dachshund Mix (Chiweenie)
🎂 Age: 1.5 Years Old
⚖️ Weight: 9 lbs.
♀️ Gender: Female
❤️ A Little About Honey
Meet Honey, a sweet and lovable little Chiweenie with a tender heart who is searching for a very special family to call her own! 🍯💕
At just 1.5 years old and weighing only 9 pounds, Honey is a tiny girl with so much love to give. Unfortunately, she hasn’t had the socialization needed to feel confident in the world, so many everyday experiences can be frightening for her.
Honey prefers women over men. She is very frightened of men. It will take months for her to be ok with a man. However, the woman is probably always going to be her person.
But underneath that fear is an incredibly affectionate little girl just waiting to blossom! Once Honey decides you’re someone she can trust, she becomes the sweetest little snuggle bug. She absolutely adores her person and wants nothing more than to curl up in their lap and be their little shadow. ❤️
Honey isn’t looking for someone to change her overnight. She’s looking for someone who will love her exactly as she is while patiently helping her discover that the world doesn’t have to be such a scary place.

🐕 Other Dogs, Cats & Children
-
🐶 Small Dogs: Gets along well with other small dogs.
-
🐕 Large Dogs: Unknown.
-
🐱 Cats: Honey happily shares her foster home with two cats and absolutely loves playing with them!
-
👧 Children: Honey does well with her foster’s respectful 10-year-old niece. Her behavior around younger children is unknown. A calm home with older, gentle children would be best.
🦮 Leash Training & Walks
The outside world is still a very scary place for Honey. She does okay walking on a leash in her foster’s backyard, but unfamiliar sights, sounds, and surroundings make her nervous.
Honey will need a patient adopter who understands that building her confidence will take time. She isn’t ready for neighborhood adventures just yet, but with gentle encouragement and lots of reassurance, she may gradually become more comfortable exploring the world.
🏡 Potty Training & Crate Training
-
🚽 Potty Training: Honey is piddle-pad trained! She has not yet gone potty outside because she is still extremely frightened of the outdoors. Her future family will need to be patient as she works toward feeling safe outside.
-
🏠 Crate Training: Honey sleeps in her crate at night, and it is her safe space where she feels secure and comfortable.
-
🛏️ Sleeping Arrangements: Honey does not currently use dog beds. She enjoys the security of her crate at bedtime, but when she’s comfortable with her person, there’s no place she’d rather be than snuggled in their lap!

🦴 Food, Toys & Car Rides
-
🍖 Food & Toys: Honey has shown no food or toy aggression.
-
🚗 Car Rides: Because Honey is fearful, car rides make her very nervous. She will need patience and reassurance as she becomes accustomed to traveling.
🥰 Personality & Meeting New People
Honey is a shy, timid little sweetheart who needs time to feel comfortable in new situations.
As mentioned above, she is especially fearful of men and feels much safer around women. When unfamiliar people enter the home, Honey may bark because she’s frightened. Her foster reports that she sometimes barks when her foster dad enters the room, but she typically settles within a minute or two and seeks comfort in her foster mom’s lap.
Honey does not warm up to everyone immediately, and that’s okay! She needs someone who understands that trust must be earned at her pace.
Once she feels safe, Honey’s true personality shines through. She becomes an affectionate, devoted little companion who wants to be close to her favorite person as much as possible. 💕
Her reactions to meeting unfamiliar dogs are still unknown.
⛈️ Anxiety, Loud Noises & Barking
-
💗 Anxiety: Honey is an anxious little girl, but her foster believes her confidence may improve with time, patience, and a stable, loving environment.
-
🌩️ Thunderstorms & Loud Noises: Thunderstorms and loud sounds frighten Honey.
-
🗣️ Barking: Honey may bark when she feels scared, particularly around men or unfamiliar people. However, her barking is not excessive and usually stops after a short time.
-
🏠 Separation Anxiety: Honey has shown no signs of separation anxiety.

🏡 Honey’s Dream Forever Home
Honey needs a very special person or family who understands that love, trust, and confidence take time to grow.
Her ideal home would be a quiet, patient, and understanding environment, preferably with a woman as her primary caregiver, where she can feel safe and secure without being pushed beyond her comfort level.
She would love a family that:
-
❤️ Gives her plenty of time to adjust to new people and surroundings.
-
🐾 Understands her fears and allows her to progress at her own pace.
-
🏡 Provides a calm, predictable home where she can feel secure.
-
🐱 Welcomes her playful side and appreciates how much she enjoys her feline friends.
-
💕 Offers endless patience, gentle encouragement, and plenty of lap snuggles!
💖 Could You Be Honey’s Safe Place?
Honey may not be the dog who runs excitedly to greet you the moment you meet her. She may need days, weeks, or even longer to feel completely comfortable. But for the person willing to give her that time, the reward will be something truly special.
When Honey finally trusts you, she gives you her whole heart. ❤️
This precious little girl doesn’t need a perfect home. She needs a loving home where she can feel safe, be understood, and discover just how wonderful life can be.
Honey has so much love tucked away inside her tiny 9-pound body. All she needs is someone patient enough to help her feel safe enough to share it.
🍯 Are you the special person who can give Honey the love, patience, and forever home she deserves?
