Adoptable Dachshund Max (26-129)

🐾 Meet Max! 🐾

10 Months Old • 22 lbs. • Dachshund

Max is a handsome, happy young Dachshund with a big personality and an even bigger heart! At just a year old, he’s full of playful energy and loves to sprint around the yard doing his famous zoomies. He’s a smart boy who listens well, enjoys his daily routine, and is looking for a home that will continue helping him build confidence and polish his manners.

🏡 Home Life

🐶 Other Dogs: Unknown. Max barks and pulls toward other dogs on walks, so slow introductions and continued training will be important.

🐱 Cats: Unknown.

👧 Children: Unknown. Because Max is a strong, energetic dog with no experience around small children, a home without young kids would be the best fit.

🦮 Training & Daily Routine

✅ House trained and will cry to let you know when he needs to go outside.

🚶 Enjoys walks and does well on a leash, though he’s a very strong puller. His foster has already started working with him, and he’s making progress.

🏃 Max is a runner and must always be kept on a leash or in a securely fenced yard. He loves to run and play, so a fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus.

🛏️ Sleeping & Crate

🛏️ Loves his dog bed and happily settles in around 8:00 PM, sleeping peacefully until about 6:30 AM.

🏠 Crate trained. He stays in his crate when his foster leaves the house, although he does cry for a little while before settling.

🍖 Personality

❤️ No food or toy aggression.

🚗 Loves car rides and rides calmly.

👂 Max can be vocal, barking when he hears people outside, the phone ringing, or unfamiliar sounds. He has also barked when meeting new people but begins to relax after a short time with gentle introductions.

⛈️ Great news—storms and fireworks don’t seem to bother him!

💙 Max’s Ideal Home

Max would thrive with someone who is home much of the day and committed to continuing his leash skills and socialization. He’s a strong, active boy who will do best with an owner who can confidently handle his enthusiasm while helping him learn that new people and dogs aren’t so scary. Despite needing a little extra guidance, Max is a wonderful dog who listens well, loves his routine, and has so much potential. With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, he’ll make an incredibly loyal companion. Adoption Fee: $425
