Adoptable Dachshund Franklin- Adopted

Adoptable dachshund Franklin is an amazing senior who doesn’t act his age at all. At only 10 years old, he’s in good health and should have many happy years ahead!

Adoptable Dachshund Franklin

This friendly fella wags his tail and is excited to meet everyone he comes in contact with, humans and dogs. Only very young children do seem to stress him. Older kids are fine with him. We are unsure of how he feels about cats.

Franklin loves to go for walks and he is perfect on the leash! He is smart and house trained, and learned the doggy door in minutes but will also ask to go out.

Adoptable Dachshund Franklin

His previous owner reported him to be crate trained, but the foster has had no need to use a crate with him. Franklin is not food or toy aggressive. He would love to sleep in the bed with his humans but has slept in a dog bed in his foster home.

He enjoys car rides, but does take just a moment to settle in. This sweet boy is not shy or timid. He loves to visit and say hello to everyone he meets. The only time he showed any anxiety was on the day of his surrender to the rescue. Initially, he was a little upset to be left alone, but he adjusted very quickly and has been fine for relatively short periods of time alone. Once he knew he was safe, he settled in and has been very happy.

There is no excessive barking. He is a talker… Walk me feed me but not a barker. In the care of Low Rider, among other things, he has received Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
