Adoptable Dachshund Cooper 2 – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Cooper 2 is a wonderful little dog who makes friends everywhere he goes. He is friendly to other dogs, but not much on playing or chasing. There is lots of tail wagging when he meets a new neighbor!

Cooper

Cooper is accustomed to going to work with his foster mom and is always on his good behavior. He has a large black lab friend at work too, so he has no issues with big dogs. Of course, it would be important that they be friendly and gentle for his protection.

Toys don’t excite Cooper very much, but he still hangs out with a few in his bed! He’s a calm dog who enjoys a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. He’s a cooperative fellow who even lets his foster mommy dress him up in jaunty outfits upon occasion!

Cooper likes to go for a walk and does well with a harness and leash. As a matter of fact, he loves a walk, and gets excited to see the leash come out. Being the easy going guy he is, Coop’s not going anywhere fast, and needs a lot of time to sniff out the area. Plan on short walks at a relaxed pace.

Although fully house trained, like most doxies, there are some accidents. As long as he goes out after waking up from a nap, he’s good. He sleeps through the night without going out.

True to his nature, he shows no signs of food or toy aggression. He likes car rides, sleeps in a dog bed or with his person and does not need a crate. Cooper is a people person and isn’t shy about meeting new friends, fur or human!

Adoptable Dachshund Cooper 2

Cooper just wants to be with his person all the time- he doesn’t love to be left alone, he will bark at the door if he knows you’re behind it. He eventually just takes a nap, but he definitely would rather be with you. His foster gives his a chewy treat to distract him when she needs to sneak out. He really only barks to communicate with you. He will stand in front of you and give a little bark when he wants something- food, to go out, or to sit next to you. He also barks when you leave him, but really only if he still knows you’re nearby.

Friendly with other dogs and with strangers, Cooper will patiently let young kids pet him. He loves short walks with lots of good smells, and snuggling on the sofa or in bed. He has a playful streak and enjoys a little chase game, and uses his bark just to let you know when he’d like a snack or a little more attention. Everyone who meets Cooper falls in love with him!

Cooper is the best little companion. He is happy to be with you all the time, and will happily lay near you as you work or relax. He loves his “person” and will gladly come along with you everywhere, when allowed. Cooper has even taken some trips in a handbag and was just glad to be along for the ride!
