Adoptable Dachshund Comanche – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Comanche loves squeaky toys and will carry them around with him. He sits/stands up, especially when he smells food! Comanche is friendly with other dogs. There was no problem with the initial introduction to the 5 dogs in his foster home.

Adoptable Dachshund Comanche

Comanche is a sweet dog. He loves to curl up on your lap and has the softest coat! He like to snuggle with a dog he knows well, but seems to ignore most dogs. That may change with time because he hasn’t been in his foster home very long. Although good natured, he is fearless and will be protective if he feels the need. He is no shrinking violet!

Adoptable Dachshund Comanche

He’s been crated temporarily in his foster home and there have been no signs that he had a hard time. Comanche is not an excessive barker. He will bark to get your attention and he likes to bark going outside.

As a mini dachshund, children under 5 years of age are not the best fit. If he is around them temporarily, they should be closely supervised. A home with older kids should be fine.

Comanche is good on the leash, as a matter of fact, he gets really excited when he sees the leash come out. He does well on the harness also. Comanche is a good boy and is house trained!

Sleeping with his fosters is a treat and, like a doxie should, he likes to burrow under the covers at night. Though a big toy fan, he is not toy or food aggressive. It is always important to feed your newly adopted dog separate from other dogs until you know exactly how they will react. He is still fed apart from the other dogs.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
