If you’re looking for two sweet, easygoing dachshunds who are already wonderful family companions, Slim Jim & Chunky may be the perfect pair! These handsome boys are both 8 years old and have spent their entire lives together. Slim Jim weighs 13 lbs., and Chunky weighs 18 lbs.
They are happy, well-mannered boys who clearly have been loved and cared for throughout their lives. Their foster can’t say enough good things about them! 💕
🐶 Dogs & Cats
Slim Jim & Chunky get along with dogs of all sizes—big and small! They are friendly when meeting new dogs and fit in easily.
There is also a cat in their foster home, and the boys simply aren’t interested. They are happy to peacefully coexist. 🐱
👧 Children
These boys love children of all ages! They enjoy people and would be happy soaking up attention from a family with kids.
🦮 Leash & Walks
They are perfect on leash and enjoy going for walks. Their lovely leash manners make outings with this duo easy and enjoyable.
🏡 House Training & Crates
Slim Jim & Chunky are completely house trained! 🎉
They have never been crated, and with their excellent house manners, they haven’t needed to be. They are very easy boys to have around the house.
🌙 Sleeping
At bedtime, they settle into a dog bed and sleep quietly through the night. No fuss—just two good boys ready for a cozy night’s sleep. 💤
🧸 Food & Toys
Neither Slim Jim nor Chunky shows food or toy aggression. They are easygoing and well behaved.
🚗 Car Rides
Road trip companions? Absolutely! These boys enjoy car rides and are happy to come along for the adventure.
👋 Personality
Slim Jim & Chunky are friendly with everyone they meet. New people? They like them. New dogs? They like them too!
They are not shy or timid, show no signs of anxiety, and are not excessive barkers. They are simply happy, easygoing dogs with wonderful temperaments. ❤️

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
