Some dogs simply belong together, and Daugie and Augie are one of those special pairs. These two handsome 8-year-old male Dachshunds have shared life’s journey together and are searching for a loving family willing to open their hearts and home to both brothers.
🐶 Daugie
- 8 years old
- 23.4 lbs.
🐶 Augie
- 8 years old
- 18.2 lbs.
Together, these sweet boys are affectionate, gentle, and happiest when they can spend their days lounging on the couch, enjoying leisurely walks, and soaking up all the love their people have to offer.

🐕 Other Pets & Children
- ❤️ Both do well with other small dogs
- ❓ Unsure about large dogs
- ❓ Unsure about cats
- 👦 Daugie is comfortable with respectful children 12 years and older
- 👶 Augie has not been around children and is considered unknown
- 🏡 Their foster believes they would thrive as the only pets in a quiet home where they can have their people all to themselves.
🚶 Leash & Walks
These boys are wonderful walking companions!
- ✔️ Walk beautifully on a leash
- ✔️ Do not pull
- ✔️ Ignore other dogs and people while walking
- ❤️ Love their morning and evening walks
🚽 House Training
They are both perfectly house trained.
- ✔️ No accidents in their foster home
- ✔️ Excellent household manners

🛏️ Crate & Sleeping
Neither dog has spent much time in a crate while in foster care.
- Daugie rides calmly in a crate for car trips.
- Augie has only used a crate for transportation and veterinary visits and has experienced some motion sickness and anxiety while traveling.
At home, both boys prefer the comforts of a couch over a crate!
- 🛋️ Daugie naps on the couch during the day and sleeps at night in a dog bed on the couch wrapped in his favorite fleece blanket.
- 🛋️ Augie also loves the couch and insists on sleeping in a dog bed on top of it. He prefers not to sleep on the floor.
🍽️ Food & Toys
- ✔️ No food or toy aggression
- ✔️ Neither brother plays with toys
- 🦴 Augie enjoys an occasional chew stick
❤️ They politely respect each other’s meals and never eat from the other’s food bowl.
🚗 Car Rides
- Daugie rides quietly in his crate and has done well on trips to the vet.
- Augie can become anxious in the crate and experienced motion sickness on a longer drive, though shorter vet trips have gone better.
👋 Meeting New People
Both boys are friendly, but their personalities shine in different ways.
- 💙 Daugie greets everyone with a wagging tail, loves to jump up to say hello, and happily gives kisses.
- 💙 Augie is more reserved at first. He may keep his tail tucked until he feels comfortable, but once he settles in, he becomes incredibly affectionate and loves to snuggle.

🐶 Meeting Other Dogs
Neither dog has met unfamiliar dogs while in foster care, so their reactions are currently unknown.
