Adoptable Dachshund Peanut – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Peanut is very sweet and loves attention. However, when he goes outside, his excitement is looking for lizards; he enjoys the backyard and wants to go outside a lot.

He is on the chubby side but will lose the extra pounds with regular feeding. It appears before their food was just put down, so we probably ate the others as well. The few extra pounds don’t slow him down in his play. Peanut minds well as he wants to please. A cute, loving boy, Peanut will be an added joy to any home.

Peanut came to Low Rider with his son Maxwell. They are buddies, but not bonded. However, if you want two dogs, these would the two!

Since being in the care of Low Rider he has received a Vet Check, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication.

Peanut is a vocal dog. He barks at sounds as well at other dogs for awhile. Even though it isn’t excessive, he is quite vocal. Not shy or timid, Peanut is also not aggressive. He shows no signs of anxiety. Additionally, he shows no signs of aggression over food or toys.

While friendly when meeting new dogs, he is much more reserved with new people. He automatically barks and stays back. However, he will then calm down and is friendly.

Since being at his foster moms, he has slept in his dog bed, and at night he sleeps in his crate. It’s very likely that he would enjoy sleeping in the bed with his people if given the opportunity. Peanut is working on losing a bit of extra weight.

He has taken to chasing after the neighbors cat at his foster home. We aren’t sure if he would adjust to one that didn’t run from him. Peanut gets along well with his foster siblings. He plays appropriately and isn’t aggressive. He likes to go for walks and is good on the leash.
