Adoptable Mix Scouty is an active and lovable six year old dachshund mix looking for the perfect home. He’s described as a ball of energy who loves the company of kids and his foster sisters. He plays well with his six-year-old human brother and shares his toys with other small dogs.
Scouty loves his tennis balls and will even play by himself. Fetch, tug-of-war, you name it – he’ll play. He also loves to go on walks and does well on a leash.
Foster mom says Scouty is extremely smart. He knows how to sneak up on the counter if you’re not watching and grab a snack. You must keep an eye on him! He can jump on chairs!
Scouty is house-trained and does well in the car. He enjoys trips to Starbucks to get a puppacino! When he is home alone, Scouty prefers to sit by the window and wait for his people to arrive home. He sleeps with his foster mom in the big bed.
He’s described as a very alert boy. He’ll let you know when guests arrive and when there are other dogs in the neighborhood. He’ll also greet you at the door and tell you about his day and then ask to play.
There isn’t much about Scouty that is shy or timid. He’s very friendly and playful. He will bark when he meets new people, but will warm up to them quickly once he realizes they are not a threat. One thing Scouty doesn’t seem to like much is anything that resembles a pole, such as a vacuum or broom. Silly boy.

Scouty is a gem and we are pawsitive he’ll make the perfect addition to the right home. He’s smart and fun to be around. Scouty is hoping for a yard to play in with a fur sibling or two and active humans to love. He’s been completely vetted and is ready for adoption.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
