Adoptable Mix Joey is 3 years old and 14 pounds. He came to us from a terrible hoarding situation.
Joey is the definition of a gentle soul. He’s shy at first – the kind of boy who watches before he trusts – but once you’re “his person,” he is all cuddles, warmth, and soft little sighs.
Joey’s Forever Home Checklist ✅:
- A calm, patient home that understands he needs a little time to warm up.
- Loud noises can make him nervous, and he may scoot away if something startles him. So a home without young kids and and a lot of visitors might be too much for him.

Joey at a Glance
-
✔️ Good with other dogs (friendly meeting new pups!)
-
✔️ Likes cats
-
✔️ Good on a leash & enjoys walks
-
✔️ Loves car rides
-
✔️ Crate trained
-
✔️ Very quiet — not much of a barker
-
✔️ No separation anxiety
He’s currently working on house training and making great progress. He can be a bit possessive with food or toys, so feeding separately from other dogs keeps everyone happy. The good news? He responds well to gentle correction and easily backs off.
Joey is a professional lap dog. He is perfectly content laying in your arms for hours. Outside of the occasional zoomies (which are adorable, by the way), he’s laid-back, chill, and happiest just being near you. He enjoys being outside, loves to chew (so have those chew toys ready!), and finds comfort in calm companionship.
He doesn’t sleep in the foster’s bed and prefers his own quiet space – another sign of his independent, easygoing nature.

Vetting and Medical
In our care, Joey has received a vet check, vaccines, nail trimming, and has been neutered. He is on monthly heartworm preventatives.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Adoptable Mix Joey – 3 years old, 14 pounds
Joey isn’t looking for chaos. He’s looking for safety. For softness. For someone who sees the shy ones and says, “You’re safe here.” Adoption Fee: $300.
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
