Say hello to Fiona, a 2-year-old dachshund mix with a shiny coat, soulful eyes, and a heart as big as her floppy ears. Weighing in at just 20 pounds, Fiona is the perfect medium-sized companion ready to find a forever home filled with love, play, and plenty of cuddles.

Fiona is a total sweetheart who’s equal parts curious and cautious when meeting new people. She might take a minute to warm up, but once she does, she’s all in—curling up next to you, following you from room to room, and becoming your loyal little shadow.

🐾 Fiona’s Favorite Things:

• Snuggling in bed (preferably with you!)

• Going for walks – she’s great on a leash and listens well

• Riding in the car with her ears in the breeze

• Playtime – especially if squeaky toys are involved

• Making doggy friends – she’s playful and respectful, though she may grumble a bit if someone steals the toy she has her eye on (don’t worry, a gentle correction does the trick)

She’s house-trained, sleeps through the night in a dog bed (or yours!), and is overall a smart, affectionate pup who’s eager to please. Fiona is also very observant and tuned in—she notices what’s going on and is quick to learn routines and cues.

Things to Know:

• Fiona may get a bit anxious if left alone for long periods. She’s adjusting after a tough transition and thrives on companionship and consistency.

• She’ll bark if her dog siblings start barking or if something noisy happens outside, but she’s easily calmed with reassurance.

• She came from a family with a child and was especially close to a 7-year-old, so we think she’d do well in a home with gentle kiddos—though we haven’t tested that directly.

Vetting and Medical

In our care, Fiona has received nail trimmings and is up to date on all vaccines. 

We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Fiona is looking for a home where she’ll be loved as much as she loves in return. She’d do great with someone who’s around often, has other small or respectful dogs, and who doesn’t mind sharing the couch (and maybe the bed). In return, she’ll give you devotion, cuddles, and that sweet gaze that says, “I’m yours.” Adoption Fee: $300
