Adoptable Mix Taco – Adopted

Meet Adoptable Mix Taco – The Sweetest Little Adoptable Dachshund Mix on Wheels 🌮💛

Taco isn’t just his name—it’s his vibe. This little guy is the full package: adorable, determined, affectionate, and full of personality. At 3 years old and weighing in at just 10 pounds, Taco may have some special needs, but he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit.

A Laid-Back Gentleman
Taco gets along well with the other small dogs in his foster home, especially those who are mellow and respectful of his space. He’s not a rough-and-tumble pup who enjoys wrestling or chase—he prefers the company of chill canine companions who know how to give him a little room. While he was initially unsure around the large dog in his foster home, he relaxed after a few days. Still, we think Taco would thrive best in a home without large dogs.

A Home That Understands His Needs
Taco lives with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), and while he’s a pro at getting around in his wheelchair for short walks and loves longer rides in his stroller, he does require some help in the potty department. He can go on his own, but needs his bladder expressed a few times a day to fully empty it, and he wears a belly band indoors to catch any dribbles. As for his bowel movements, he’ll go when he needs to, but it doesn’t always happen outside unless he’s encouraged.

For his safety, Taco sleeps in a comfy playpen at night and does great in one while you’re away, though he’s a big fan of snuggling with his humans on the couch or bed during the day (bed rails or other safety measures are a must if he joins you there!).

A Heart Full of Love
Taco is incredibly affectionate—he’s a world-class snuggler and the ultimate TV buddy. He can be a little shy when meeting new people and may bark to voice his uncertainty, but he settles down quickly. He’s not a big barker overall, and doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety. He’s also great in the car, whether riding in a car seat or crate.

Vetting and Medical

In our care, Taco has received a vet check, dental exam, nails trim, heart worm testing and medication.

We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Adoptable Mix Taco – 3 yrs, 10 lbs

Taco would love a home with older, dog-savvy children or adults who are gentle and understand his special needs. He’d thrive with a person or family who can commit to his care routine and appreciate all the joy and love he brings in return. He doesn’t need much—just some help with his bladder, a soft place to lay, a few short walks (or stroller rides!), and lots of cuddles and peanut butter lick mats. Adoption Fee: $150

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
