Meet Adoptable Mix Charlie: A Sweet, Shy Little Shadow Looking for His Person 💛
Charlie is a 2-year-old, 16-pound dachshund mix with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. He may be shy when you first meet him, but give him a little patience and kindness and you’ll quickly see what a loving, snuggly boy he truly is. Once Charlie trusts you, he becomes the ultimate lap dog and loyal companion.
Charlie’s Forever Home Check List ✅:

Charlie still has a lot of puppy energy and loves playing with toys and other dogs. Because he’s so playful, very senior dogs may not be the best match, but he absolutely enjoys having canine friends.
He has also done well with cats, though if they run he may think it’s a fun game of chase. Thankfully he responds well to gentle correction.
Charlie is fully house trained and has had no accidents after settling into his foster home. He’s not crate trained because he currently sleeps in his own room on his dog bed at night. In the mornings, though, he enjoys hopping into bed for some extra cuddles.

Charlie can be nervous meeting new people, so he does best when allowed to approach on his own terms. Loud noises and car rides can make him a little anxious (he drools in the car), but with patience and confidence building he continues to improve every day.
He would thrive with a patient family who will help him keep building confidence and give him lots of love.
Charlie doesn’t have separation anxiety and does well relaxing at home when his humans are away.
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Charlie has received a vet check, has received all his shots and was neutered.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
