Adoptable Mix Champ – Adopted

Adoptable Mix Champ

Adoptable Mix Champ is a sweetheart who loves people and is looking for his best friend. Champ enjoys playing with dogs and people! In the beginning, Champ can be a little shy, but he loves to play and has a terrific personality. He is loving, playful, intelligent, and eager to please!

Adoptable Mix Champ

Champ is not very familiar with a leash, and was initially afraid of it. It’s important to squat down and speak softly and let him approach. Once Champ trusts you, he gets excited to go outside. He’s still learning to walk correctly on the leash, but he’s getting better with practice. Champ always comes when his name is called, especially when you clap your hands and have a friendly tone.

Adoptable Mix Champ

Adoptable Mix Champ is house trained for the most part. He will have accidents sometimes but the biggest problem is that there had been an older dog in his foster home who has accidents and that has led to some confusion. Champ is smart; and with consistency, he should not have problems in this department.

Champ is afraid in the crate and has avoided it in his foster home. He loves to cuddle and prefers to sleep with his people. He is a smart boy though, it would likely only take a week or less to train him to sleep in a dog bed. Treats would be terrific encouragement. He loves some treats! Tell him “EASY, EASY” and he will be more gentle when taking the treat right from your hand. Otherwise, he gets excited and Champ can Chomp! He wouldn’t do that intentionally though.

Adoptable Mix Champ

Adoptable Mix Champ has been known to growl at a younger foster dog over food or a toy. They have fought a bit like siblings – playing one minute, fighting another, and then playing again just fine. He has not done that way with any of the other dogs. It’s truly akin to a sibling rivalry.

Champ is afraid on car rides. He shakes the whole time and hides his head. In a crate or out of a crate, the results are the same. Champ enjoys playing with dogs and people! In the beginning, he can be a little shy but he loves to play and has a terrific personality. Men seem to scare him more at first, but getting down to his level with a soft voice will entice him to come over for petting and love.

Once this smart little guy knows he can trust you, he’s your friend for life! He loves to give kisses and cuddle up.

Champ had his Adult Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Spay or Neuter, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication. Champ is a delightful dog who will make a wonderful companion.

He is vocal. And has this cute and funny little way of talking and smiling with his teeth. It’s hilarious! His foster initially thought he was growling or fussing at her, and soon discovered he was just trying to talk. It’s almost like he’s mimicking people talking. Funny little dog!

This boy Champ LOVES to play and would enjoy a dog friend to play with, most likely one close in size. Each morning he carries his dog toys, one by one, out onto the back patio where he rolls around and throws them up in the air. He darts around the backyard and really would like to have a yard of his own to play in.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
