Adoptable Doxie Mix Rosie – Adopted

Adoptable Doxie Mix Rosie is an absolute delight! She is a quiet little girl that takes a bit of time to come out of her shell. Don’t let her fool you! Once she is comfortable she loves to trot around the house and explore.

Adoptable Doxie Mix Rosie

Rosie is 12 pounds and a 12 year old senior girl who will steal your heart!

More than anything, she loves to cuddle both her foster human and her foster dachshund brother. She has a wonderfully sweet personality, the adorable bat ears are just an added bonus!

Rosie

Rosie came from a situation with many other dogs and does not mind other dogs of any size. She absolutely loves her foster sibling, Buffalo, and we believe she will do best in a home with another older dog or with someone that is home to love on her. She loves to be close to her foster mom or her foster brother at all times. It is unknown as to how she would do with cats, but it’s likely she would ignore them as long as they don’t bother her.

More About Rosie

Adoptable Doxie Mix Rosie

If they are well behaved around small and senior dogs, she doesn’t mind big dogs. We will be selective of the home and dogs she is placed with due to her age and size. Rosie has been known to wag her tail at every dog she’s been introduced to, but she especially loves to cuddle with other dachshunds!

Rosie is an angel with using pee pads, but she does not know to let you know she needs to go outside. That being said, pee pads have been used with her without any problems. Keeping her on a frequent potty schedule could also be beneficial, but she doesn’t go in the house as long as pee pads are available.

Additionally, she started taking Proin about a week ago for bladder control and it is working wonders! No more constant dribble. Crate trained, she also loves to go for walks. She’s good on the leash and on walks.

When meeting new people Rosie is very shy, but has never shown any sign of aggression. She is very calm and submissive.

She has had a Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Medication (permanent – for bladder treatment), Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication, Major Dental (cleaning and removal).

Delightfully well behaved and chill in the car and at home, Rosie is a good girl. She likes people and dogs alike. Rosie is very shy and took several weeks to fully come out of her shell with her foster. Now she runs circles around her foster mom and loves to cuddle!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
