When last reported, this adorable pair weighed 15 and 19 pounds. Both dogs are house trained. When Joey is playing, he needs to urinate frequently. They both go outside and each can use a pee pad during extended time indoors.

Side by side, these boys LOVE to sleep in their crates and are accustomed to it all night. As a bonded pair, they receive comfort by being together and should adjust better in new situations. Joey will cry about 7 a.m. to go out after sleeping all night.

While Joey loves toys, Riley really doesn’t have much of an interest in them. Neither dog is aggressive with toys or food, and they both sure do love food! They also enjoy car rides and are cooperative in transport.

Joey and Riley are socialized dogs who behaved well at a recent event. They like meeting new dogs and people alike. Each will bark at appropriate times, but there doesn’t seem to be any excessive barking. They bark intermittently while on walks, but are working on it.

Riley shows signs of anxiety when his brother isn’t around and Joey gets anxious at the Vet, but otherwise both dogs are pretty well secure together. When Joey is crated on the first floor at his foster home and foster parents leave to work upstairs, he will occasionally cry. This appears to be because he understands they are close by and he seems fine when they leave the house.

Joey and Riley Summary

Joey and Riley are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together.  These boys were well taken care of and came to Low Rider because their dad passed away.  These “brothers” have been together their entire lives and are so sweet together. Joey (Black/tan) is 15 pounds and is 7 years old. Riley (white/brown) is 19 pounds and is 8 years old.

Joey’s teeth have tartar but he does not require a dental. New owner should follow up with regular cleaning and professional cleaning when possible. His back and skin are good.

Riley has spinal arthritis. Very important that he is not allowed to jump on/off furniture. He is using ramps in the fosters yard. Riley will need a dental and will need a few teeth taken out 9/7/2020. He has some mild skin allergies but is on medicated shampoo and doing better. Other than that, he is great.

JOEY – Black and Tan RILEY – White and Brown

Joey and Riley like their crates and during the day go in and out of them (sometimes even sharing a nap together in one crate). They are completely cooperative when it’s time to go in for sleep at night.

This sweet pair loves breakfast and dinner time but show no sign of food aggression.  Although we aren’t sure how they will respond to cats, each of them likes dogs, people and children just fine. They are currently in a foster home with a senior dog and they are so adorable with him.

Joey and Riley do like to bark when people enter their foster home and occasionally bark on their walks.  They are house trained but need to go out for frequent breaks if they are active out of their crates.

Joey LOVES to play fetch and likes to have a toy around him at all times.  Riley would rather watch his brother play on the lap of his human and does not have any interest in toys.  Riley has some spinal arthritis and should NOT be allowed to do stairs or jump on/off furniture.  He is great at using his ramps!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
