Meet Adoptable Dachshund Winnie, don’t let the name fool you – Winnie is a handsome little guy with BIG dachshund personality packed into a 13-pound body! At just 2 years old, this low-rider is the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly companion.
Winnie is the definition of dachshund charm – curious, a little mischievous, and completely lovable. He may be a bit shy when meeting new people (expect some barking and a funny little “dance”), but once he realizes you’re safe, he turns into a total cuddle bug who just wants to be close to his person.

💛 His personality:
Winnie is a social, playful little guy who thrives around other dogs and enjoys being part of the action. He’ll zoom around the yard like a tiny tornado one minute, then curl up next to you the next. He’s also been known to “borrow” a sock or shoe here and there – classic dachshund behavior 😄
🏡 What Winnie is working on:
- He can be a bit skittish with new people, but warms up with patience and reassurance
- Has some separation anxiety and may have accidents if left alone too long
- Not a fan of the crate (he previously injured his nose trying to get out), so he’d do best in a home where crating isn’t required
- Mostly house-trained and improving every day
Winnie would do best with a patient, loving family who understands dachshund quirks and can give him time to feel safe and secure. A home with another friendly dog would be a huge bonus for him!
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Winnie has received a vet check, vaccines and has been neutered.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
