Meet Adoptable Dachshund Willy – this handsome 2-year-old Dachshund is the definition of a loyal little shadow. At just 12.5 pounds, Willy is the perfect size for lap cuddles and trust us, that’s exactly where he wants to be. 💛
Willy is a sensitive, loving boy who forms deep bonds with his person. He may be shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet and playful personality really shines. He’s the kind of dog who will curl up in your arms at night, stay there for hours, and greet you in the morning with the softest snuggles.
Important notes for Willy’s future home:
- A secure, fenced yard is a must – this little guy is quick and curious!
- He’ll need a patient adopter willing to continue leash training
- He does best with a consistent, specific diet to keep his tummy happy
- He would thrive with someone home often who can give him lots of love and attention
- He prefers women but may warm up to men over time with patience
About Willy:
- 🐶 Gets along well with other dogs in the home
- 🐾 Can be vocal with new dogs or people at first, but warms up with time
- 🐱 Not a good fit for homes with cats (he likes to chase)
- 🚫 Best in an adult-only home (no kids)
- 🏡 House trained and also pad trained
- 🛏️ Not crate trained – prefers freedom and comfort
- 🦮 Still learning leash skills and will need continued training
- 💕 No aggression – just shy and a bit anxious initially
Willy has come a long way since entering foster care. His anxiety has improved so much, and he’s now comfortable relaxing at home, even when left alone with his doggy friends. He thrives in a calm, predictable environment where he can feel secure.
His favorite things?
Being your shadow, helping with “chores” (especially anything involving water—he LOVES chasing the hose!), lounging outside, and claiming his spot right on your lap. He’s also got a silly, clownish side that will keep you smiling.
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Willy has received a vet check, vaccines, a nail trimming, flea treatments and is on monthly heartworm preventatives.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
