Adoptable Dachshund Waldo – No Longer Accepting Applications

Adoptable Dachshund Waldo, also known as “Wally” is a 2-year-old, 9 pound, sweet and spunky little guy looking for his forever home!

Wally loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with another playful pup (preferably an older dog who still enjoys playtime). He’s especially attached to his foster brother and loves having a buddy to hang out with during the day. He’s met larger dogs and done great (just a little cautious at first) and even played with a kitten at the shelter! 🐕🐈

This handsome boy has lots of great qualities:
House-trained: He’s had no recent accidents and can “hold it” while his humans are at work — as long as he gets his morning potty break first thing.
Crate-trained: Sleeps soundly through the night in his crate (though he’d love to snuggle in the big bed if allowed!).
Good on walks: Walks nicely on a leash and enjoys outdoor adventures, but watch out — he will try to chase a squirrel or two! 🐿️
Not a big barker: He’ll join in if he hears the neighborhood dogs but isn’t excessive.

Wally can be a little protective over his food and toys, so he’s best suited for an adult-only home or one with older children. His foster family has been helping him learn to share by hand-feeding and trading toys, and he’s made great progress!

He’s friendly with new people (after a few barks of introduction), warms up quickly, and loves to be by your side. He does show some mild separation anxiety, but having another dog around helps him feel secure.

🚗 Wally isn’t a big fan of car rides, he’ll cry if he’s not in someone’s lap, so short trips or two-person transports are best for him.

Vetting and Medical

In our care, Waldo has received a vet check, vaccines, nail trimming, flea treatments, minor surgery for an umbilical hernia. Waldo is on monthly heartworm preventatives and has been neutered.

We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Adoptable Dachshund Waldo – 2 years old, 9 pounds

Wally is still a young pup with a playful heart, a love for fetch, and the sweetest cuddles once playtime is done. Adoption Fee: $350.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
