Adoptable Dachshund Mix Koko

Adoptable Dachshund Mix Koko has a million-dollar smile! Koko is 6 years old and 14 pounds. 

Koko is the total package — sweet, loving, and ready to make someone very happy! He’s a friendly little guy who loves to be around people and will happily snuggle up beside you, flashing his adorable smile to let you know he’s content.

Koko gets along well with other dogs and cats, and he’s been great with older kids. He hasn’t been around small children or big dogs in his foster home, but his easygoing personality suggests he’d adjust well with proper introductions.

This cutie is house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys car rides. Like a typical Dachshund mix, he can be a bit stubborn at times…if he decides he doesn’t want to go somewhere, he’ll politely stand his ground! He’s not food or toy aggressive, and while he doesn’t bark excessively, he’ll occasionally alert you when someone’s at the door or a car pulls up.

Koko isn’t shy or anxious, and loud noises don’t bother him at all. He’s crate-trained (though his foster doesn’t keep him in one), uses a dog bed, and has been perfectly fine when left alone.

Vetting and Medical

In our care, Koko has received a vet check, vaccines, a dental exam, skin treatment and a nail trimming. He was given antibiotics for a skin infection that has healed nicely. He had chronic double ear infections and one of his ears resolved well but the other ear has required multiple rounds of treatment to clear the infection. If continued ear infections occur, a surgery to remove his ear canal may be necessary in the future, but was ruled out for now. Koko has a heart murmur that the vet is not concerned with and does not require medication.
