Despite the hardships he’s endured, this handsome gentleman has remained loving, gentle, and eager to please. Jethro wasn’t house trained when he first entered foster care, but he proved just how smart he is by learning quickly. He’s now doing great with his potty routine! One thing he doesn’t enjoy is being confined. Crates and X-pens make him bark because he simply wants to be with his people. Outside of that, he’s a quiet boy who only joins in when the neighborhood dogs alert everyone to the mail carrier or doorbell.

Jethro’s past is heartbreaking. He was found abandoned in a backyard with several large dogs for an extended period before Animal Control rescued him. Half of one ear is missing, most of his tail is gone, and the scars on his face suggest he may have had to fight just to survive. Yet somehow, this incredible dog has remained nothing but kind, gentle, and trusting.
His foster believes Jethro must have known love at some point because he adores people, enjoys leisurely walks, loves sleeping in the big bed if invited, and has impeccable manners around other pets and children. He truly is one of those special dogs who leaves an impression on everyone he meets.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
