Meet Adoptable Dachshund Marley – A Sweet, Playful Pup Ready to Find His Forever Family!
If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts snuggle bug and fetch champion, let us introduce you to Marley! This adorable 2-year-old, 15-pound dachshund is as sweet as he is spirited—and he’s ready to bring his puppy energy and endless affection to his forever home.

Marley & Other Animals
Marley is a total joy to be around. He gets along great with other small dogs and knows how to play respectfully, always being mindful of boundaries. While he’s energetic and playful, he’s not overly pushy—he’s just the right amount of fun! Marley does best with dogs his own size, as he came from a home where he was bullied by bigger dogs. Understandably, he gets defensive around large dogs and would be happiest in a home with small, friendly pups only.
When it comes to cats, Marley shows a bit too much interest—so a feline-free home would be best. As for kids, Marley hasn’t spent time around any in his foster home, but his gentle, affectionate nature makes us confident he’d do well with older children (12+), especially those who can respect his space and understand his more timid side.

Walk a Mile in His Paws
Marley lives for walks. Whether it’s a short stroll or a multi-mile adventure, this pup is always ready to hit the pavement. He walks beautifully on leash with no pulling, though he can be a bit startled by loud noises like passing cars or bicycles. The good news? With consistency and patience, Marley has already made great progress—and his confidence continues to grow every day.
House & Crate Training
At home, Marley is making huge strides with house training. He knows he should go outside to potty but is still learning how to tell his humans when it’s time. With a routine and regular breaks, he’s had zero accidents in weeks. He’s also learned how to use a doggy door like a pro!
Marley is crate trained and sleeps soundly in his crate at night or when home alone. Like most curious young dogs, he’s still learning what is (and isn’t) a toy—so a safe space when unsupervised is a must for now. He’s also happy to snooze in a dog bed but would likely love to curl up in your bed too… just be ready for a few excited leaps!

Playtime!
When it’s playtime, Marley shines. He’s obsessed with fetch (tennis balls are his favorite) and will play as long as you’ll throw. He’s fast, agile, and always brings the toy back—just slightly out of reach for extra fun. No toy or food aggression here—just a goofy, enthusiastic love of play.
Marley is quiet (rarely barks!), well-behaved in the car, and doesn’t show any signs of separation anxiety. While he can be shy at first, he warms up quickly with a little kindness and a squeaky toy.
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Marley has received a vet check, vaccines, medication (temporary – like for acute infection), heartworm and flea treatments and was neutered.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!
