Adoptable Dachshund Chancho is 4 years old and 16 pounds. Some dogs quietly steal your heart… and then there’s Chancho – who trots right in, drops a ball at your feet, and waits patiently for you to throw it again (and again… and again).
Chancho is one of those easy-to-love dogs. He’s confident, happy, and full of life without being overwhelming. He’s not shy, not anxious, and not needy – just a really solid little companion who knows how to enjoy the good stuff.
Chancho’s Forever Home Checklist ✅:
✔️No large dogs
✔️A family who enjoys walks, playtime, and a well-mannered companion
✔️Someone looking for a confident, loving dachshund who fits easily into everyday life

Chancho is house-trained and crate-trained, he even sleeps in his crate. He loves people, including kids. He is friendly meeting new people (may bark once, then warms right up). He likes small dogs but does not like big dogs. He will bark at them and seems to be scared of them.
Chancho is great on a leash and loves walks. He enjoys strolling and sniffing new places. He will ride calmly in the car and is very relaxed. Chancho doesn’t bark excessively and doesn’t have separation anxiety, food or toy aggression.
Chancho lives for playtime. He loves playing ball and will happily play catch for hours and the best part? He listens. When it’s time to stop, he stops. When it’s bedtime, he goes right to bed when asked. He’s the kind of dog that makes daily life feel easy and joyful.

Vetting and Medical
In our care, Chancho has received a vet check. He is also on monthly heartworm preventatives. Chancho is neutered.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
