Adoptable Bonded Mix Pair Mocha and Maple are a bonded mother-daughter duo looking for their happily ever after.
If you’re looking for not just one, but two sweet, soulful companions, look no further. Mocha (3 years, 18 lbs) and her daughter Maple (2 years, 10 lbs) are a bonded pair who have overcome heartbreaking beginnings and are now ready for the next chapter of their lives with a loving, patient forever family.
These two little girls came from a severe hoarding and neglect case, and while their early experiences made them understandably timid, they’ve blossomed beautifully in foster care. They’ve learned to trust, to play, and most of all, to love. Now, they’re looking for a forever family who will continue to help them grow and discover the joy of just being dogs.

Our Forever Home Checklist ✅:
Mocha and Maple are a deeply bonded pair who do everything together from naps, to meals, to learning how to be dogs again. You’ll rarely see one without the other (unless Mocha is on her nightly walk and Maple is still too unsure to join in). Because of this bond, they must be adopted together.
These girls would thrive in:
- A calm home with patient adopters who understand that trust takes time.
- A home with a fenced-in yard. This is non-negotiable for their safety and confidence.
- A family with or without other small dogs. They love other pups, but would also do great as a duo.
- A quiet environment with respectful children, if any.
- A family willing to give them time, space, and unconditional love.
About Maple (daughter) 🍁

Maple is a sweet and curious little girl who loves other small dogs. She happily shares toys, plays gently, and even cuddles up with her doggie friends. While she was initially cautious around the large dog in her foster home, she now doesn’t mind her at all. She’s never been around cats, so we’re unsure how she would react.
Maple has done well around respectful kids of all ages in brief interactions, but she’s still very shy with new people. If adopted into a family with children, they’ll need to understand and respect her boundaries.
She’s been making strides with leash training, but walks still make her a little nervous. She’ll need continued gentle encouragement here but she’s already come so far! A secure, fenced-in yard is required to help her safely explore at her own pace.

Maple is crate trained and absolutely loves her crate and playpen, they’re her safe spaces. While she and Mocha don’t need to be crated when left alone (they’re angels when free-roaming!), having access to their cozy dens is a must.
Maple is also doing great with house-training, with only an occasional overnight accident. She sleeps in a dog bed at night, but has started enjoying couch and big bed naps and once she’s fully comfortable in her forever home, we think she’ll be a top-tier snuggle buddy.

About Mocha (mother) ☕
Mocha is the protective, calm mom of the duo. She’s a bit more independent than Maple and doesn’t engage in play with other dogs, but she’s friendly and unbothered by all dogs she’s met including the big dog in her foster home.
Where Maple is hesitant on walks, Mocha has become a brave little explorer! She’s still a bit wary of loud sounds like motorcycles or cyclists, but she’s learning that the outside world isn’t so scary after all. A secure harness is a must for both girls on walks (along with a collar), as their skittish past means safety is a top priority.

Mocha is quiet and composed, she’s only barked once in her foster home! Like Maple, she’s not destructive, shows no signs of separation anxiety, and is completely trustworthy with free roam when home alone. She’s still working on her skin and coat health, so we recommend she (and Maple, too) stay on a skin and coat supplement to support their recovery.

Vetting and Medical
In our care, Maple and Mocha have received vet checks, vaccines, dental exams, medication (temporary – like for acute infection), skin treatments, nail trimming, are on monthly heartworm preventatives and has been spayed.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!
