Adoptable Mix Joey is a 5-year-old tri-pod mixed breed weighing about 16 pounds who is looking for a patient, loving home where he can truly shine. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and we don’t know how he became a tri-pod.
Because Joey came from a hoarding situation, it takes him some time to feel safe and comfortable. When he first arrived in foster care, it took him a few days to warm up – but once he does, he becomes a very loving, loyal little companion. With patience and consistency, Joey will absolutely become your best friend.
About Joey:
🏡 House trained & crate trained
🛏️ Uses a dog bed and sleeps with his person
🚗 Enjoys car rides
🚶♂️ Good on walks, though he can pull on leash
🔊 Does not bark excessively; barks at normal household sounds
Joey’s Forever Home Checklist ✅:
– Joey needs a calm, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time.
– He wants to be the main pet and would thrive in a quiet home with someone willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace.
Personality & Needs:
– Joey is shy and timid at first and needs time to build trust
– He is not friendly with new people right away and may nip at ankles if someone moves quickly when he’s uncomfortable
– He has shown food-related defensiveness around other dogs
– Shows some separation anxiety – he misses his person and wants lots of love when you return
Other Pets & Kids:
– Joey should be the only dog in the home at this time
– He has lived with a familiar pack but has not done well with certain new dogs
– We do not know how he would do with children
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Joey has received a vet check, vaccines, dental exam, nail trimming, skin treatment and has been neutered.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
