🌰 Meet Adoptable Mix Cocoa – A Sweet Little Sidekick with a Big Heart! 🐾
Say hello to Cocoa, an 11-pound 2-year-old dachshund mix who came to us after she was unfortunately hit by a car. Cocoa is all better now and ready to wiggle her way into your heart (and probably your bed too). This petite pup is the perfect mix of sassy and sweet, with just enough spice to keep life interesting!

🐶 Dog-Friendly (With Some Preferences!)
Cocoa loves other small dogs and has even taken on the role of protector for one of her disabled foster siblings. She’s playful, friendly, and social with pups her size. Big dogs? Not her vibe—especially if they’re pushy. But if they’re calm and respectful, she’s fine sharing the space.
🐱 Cat-Approved (With a Dash of Chase!)
Cocoa lives peacefully with cats, but fair warning—if they bolt, she’ll give chase. No harm intended; she just can’t resist a good zoom!
👶 Kid Potential
We haven’t seen Cocoa around small children yet, but her gentle nature suggests she’d do just fine with respectful littles.

🚶♀️ Walking Queen
This girl lives for her walks! She’s great on a leash, and when off-leash, her recall is impressive—unless you’re a squirrel. Squirrels beware.
🏡 Home Sweet Home Habits
Cocoa is house-trained, puppy-pad trained, and crate-trained (though she really just uses it for mealtimes). She loves her dog bed but wouldn’t mind snuggling up next to her human for the night. She’s not super into toys but enjoys the company of other dogs and is respectful at mealtimes with proper supervision.
🚗 Road Trip Ready
Whether she’s gazing out the window or curled up for a nap, Cocoa is a happy little passenger on car rides.
💗 Personality Plus
Cocoa may be a little shy when meeting new people or dogs, but give her a few minutes, and she’ll be your best friend. She’s shown no signs of anxiety, doesn’t bark excessively, and is overall a well-mannered lady. She doesn’t try to dart out of open gates and is happy to relax or tag along.
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Cocoa has received a vet check and flea treatments. The vet thinks Cocoa may have an ovarian remnant, which means she can sometimes show signs of being in heat even though she’s spayed. It’s not harmful—just something to keep in mind.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Adoptable Mix Cocoa – 2 yrs, 11 lbs
Cocoa is one of those dogs who tries so hard to be good. She’s soft, affectionate, and just wants to be someone’s loyal companion. She’d love a home with a yard, regular walks, a cozy spot to nap, and someone who appreciates a dog that gives her whole heart. Adoption fee $300.
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
