Adoptable Mix Betty is a 2 year-old, 17 pound bundle of joy who has a lot of love to give! This girl is a total love, is calm, cool, and a Velcro pup! She loves her person and wants to be with them all the time, even if just to lay in her doggie bed.
No Other Dogs Allowed
Crate trained and 100% house-trained, Betty is a wonderful dog . . . for a home with NO other dogs. Betty went through some trauma and is NOT open to forming relationships with other dogs.
She gets uber excited when the leash comes out as she absolutely loves walks. She is accustomed to going on 3 long walks per day so she is active, and as a young dog, needs to be. She does pull a bit on leash as she’s so excited.
Betty has zero interest in toys, but is a skilled lizard chaser. Backyard time and time outdoors are some of her favorite things! Take her on the boat, for a golf cart ride, and for long walks and she’ll love you forever.

She does not like thunder. Tresadone as needed. She shakes and wants to be held. Betty is fond of her dental bone treats and takes them from you ever-so-gently. She seems she has been trained, is very submissive and 100% aims to please. Betty sleeps in a dog bed as well as in the bed with her foster, but prefers to be ON TOP of the covers…very un-dachshund like!
Betty should not be trusted along with young children. As long as she is supervised, she should do fine on visits but it wouldn’t be wise to leave her alone. The solution would be to separate her in another room when you couldn’t be right with her. Proceed with caution until you know for sure how she will react.
She often sits up on her haunches or dances around on just her back legs, just the happiest prettiest girl ever. Betty loves car rides and boat rides and sits ever so still just watching the scenery. This girl is up for an adventure, as long as there are no other dogs trying to share her home space. She is very regal.

Betty will be the best dog in the world for an individual or couple, even with teenagers in the house. She’s a smart girl who likes to obey and listens very well. She enjoys boating and golf cart rides. She likes the outdoors and is a terrific partner for long walks and exercise. Betty will be your best friend and cuddly companion – but must be an only dog. This little love bug needs a forever home with people who understand her and give her the love she deserves.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
