Onyx is a 7 yo long haired male dachshund. Don’t let his small size fool you. This tiny guy at 10lbs has a big personality.
Onyx is incredibly loving and playful – you’ll never have a second of boredom. He’s a cuddly little man. He loves being close to his person all the time, so close you may have a doxie for a scarf or around your neck while sleeping.
BUT he needs someone that is going to be his alpha and and help with his manners.
Although he is good with cats, he can be a tad rude with other dogs. So, you being the boss will be key OR he needs to be the only dog.
Onyx needs someone with a fenced in yard. When walking on a leash his anxiety gets the best of him and he continually barks and pulls. This can lead to him forgetting to empty his bladder completely, which in turn, may result in accidents in the home later.
ALL of this can be corrected with LOTS of love, patience, and training from the right person.
He’s so worth it! This little guy is also an awesome road buddy, is is always up for a car ride and is a great lap driver.
He does have allergies that if not kept medicated he developed respiratory or ear infections quickly.
