Adoptable Dachshund Pickle is a 6-year-old, 9-pound dachshund who may be small in size, but he’s got a big personality! Known as the “little mayor” of his foster home, Pickle loves everyone he meets—dogs, humans, and especially anyone who wants to toss him a tennis ball. 🎾
Pickle is super social and does great with other dogs, big and small. He hasn’t met any cats in foster care but his previous family said he is friendly with them. With kids, he’s best suited for ages 8+ since he wants to play, play, play! He can get a little barky around younger children who move quickly, but it’s just his way of joining the fun.
When it comes to walks, Pickle is awesome on a leash… unless there’s a lizard or squirrel in sight 🦎🐿️—then he’s ready to chase! He’s an adventurous little guy who loves car rides and will happily be your co-pilot.
At home, Pickle is affectionate and snuggly. He sleeps under the covers in the big bed at night and enjoys lounging in a sunny window during the day. He’s mostly house-trained and improving, but his new family should be prepared to give him plenty of potty breaks and continue his training.
Pickle isn’t a fan of crates (and hasn’t needed one), and while he may bark at first when left alone, he settles quickly. He’s not afraid of loud noises or thunder, and he’ll happily keep himself busy with his toys and tennis balls.
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Pickle has received a vet check, vaccines, a dental exam and dental procedure, and nail trimming. Pickle is on monthly heartworm preventatives and has been neutered.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
