Rudy is a 3-year-old Dachshund mix weighing 19 pounds of pure love with the biggest heart to match. He’s past the puppy chaos but still playful, fun, and full of personality-basically the best of both worlds.
Rudy’s Forever Home Checklist ✅:
– A fenced-in yard, as Rudy can be a door-bolter, so a home that can keep doors secured and provide safe outdoor space is important.
– A family who will let him sleep on the big bed with them 🥰
Rudy is fantastic with kids and is a total cuddle bug with his foster’s 6-year-old. If cuddling were an Olympic sport, Rudy would take gold. He craves closeness and would happily sleep on you if he could. He loves dog beds but truly prefers being right next to his people.
🐶 Dog-Friendly:
Rudy plays wonderfully with his foster’s chiweenie. He’s respectful of her boundaries when she needs space but also loves a good game of chase. He’s friendly and playful with new dogs and just wants to make friends. He hasn’t been around large dogs or cats yet, so those are unknowns.

🚗 Extras to Love:
Rudy enjoys car rides and knows exactly what “get in the car” means – he hops right in and heads to the backseat. He doesn’t bark excessively, only offering happy barks when his foster family comes home. Loud noises and thunder don’t bother him at all.
💛 People Lover:
Rudy truly does not know a stranger. Everyone he meets is instantly a friend, greeted with tail wags and gentle nudges for pets.
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Rudy has received a vet check, vaccines, dental exam, nail trimming, heartworm testing and is on monthly heartworm preventatives.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
