Adoptable Dachshund Mix Pedro may be 13, but don’t let his age fool you—this dachshund mix still has plenty of puppy energy and love to give! At just 13 pounds, he’s the perfect size for cuddles, car rides, and sunbathing by your side.
Pedro’s Forever Home Checklist 
:
- No young children or small pets
- Because Pedro is quite vocal, he wouldn’t be the best fit for environments where quiet is important—such as hotels, apartments with strict noise rules, or shared vacation rentals
- A home with another friendly dog would be ideal, as he doesn’t like being left alone.
- A patient, loving family who can help him continue building confidence with positive training.
About Pedro:
- House-trained (though he needs regular potty breaks)
- Crate-trained, but still learning it’s a safe space
- Fantastic on leash—he knows where the end is and doesn’t pull!
- Rides like a champ in the car
- Loves fetch, especially with tennis balls 🥎
- A total cuddle bug who loves to sleep in bed with you (under the covers is his favorite spot!)
Vetting and Medical
In our care, Pedro has received a vet check, vaccines, a dental exam, nail trimming, and medication for pain after his neutering. He is on monthly heartworm preventatives, flea treatment and has been neutered.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Pedro is incredibly smart, eager to please, and has the sweetest little “moo-like” howl when he’s trying to get your attention. He loves walks, playtime, and snuggles just as much as he loves soaking up the sunshine. Adoption fee: $150.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
