Adoptable Dachshund Mix Khandi is the sweetest little lovebug! 🍬

Khandi is a 4-year-old, 8-pound mixed breed cutie who is ready to find her forever home! Khandi has been through a lot… she had major surgery in August to remove infected tissue after being attacked by a cat. She’s made a full recovery and hasn’t lost her gentle, loving spirit. Because of that surgery, she’ll need to be spayed once her vet gives the all-clear in a couple of months.

Here’s what makes Khandi amazing:

• Great with other small dogs (we don’t know how she feels about big dogs yet!)

• No cats, please — she was attacked by one in the past

• Loves kids 5 & under and 12 & up

• Walks nicely on a leash but prefers having a backyard to roam

• Fully house trained and crate trained (though she doesn’t need a crate at her foster home)

• Sleeps on a pillow at the head of her foster’s bed and patiently waits for morning walks

• Loves her toys and will happily play on her own or with you

• Enjoys car rides

• Not food aggressive and follows simple commands like “no” and “come”

• Warning: if you don’t like kisses, this isn’t the dog for you! She’s a total kissing monster and loves showing affection.

Khandi warms up quickly to new people and dogs — she might bark or growl at first, but it’s just her way of saying hello. She’s sweet, easygoing, and full of love. Truly, she’s one of those “easy dogs” that fits right into your routine.

Vetting and Medical

In our care, Khandi has received vet checks, vaccines, dental exam and received major surgery after being attacked by a cat. 

We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!
