Adoptable Dachshund Luna is a cute little 9 month old girl weighing only 8 pounds. Luna is shy at first but eventually warms up to everyone. Luna likes to play and run around. She gets along well with both small and big dogs.

Adoptable Dachshund Luna

Little Luna isn’t very good on a leash, but she’s been working on it with her foster mommy. She is also practicing doing better on walks and she does enjoy a nice safe yard.

House trained, Luna uses potty pads and will hold it and go outside. She’s a very smart girl! Crate trained, Luna uses a crate when she not being supervised, or when no one is at home.

She likes sleeping in her dog bed but loves to sleep with her human. Luna is a big time cuddle bug and is very happy sleeping with you behind your knees or behind your back. She will keep you very warm. She’s like a little oven!

Adoptable Dachshund Luna

Luna is not food or toy aggressive. Initially she should be watched as she is a very slow eater. If there are any other dogs around they may take her food. She has growled at the dogs when they came by to try and take her food, but not aggressively.

Though friendly when meeting new people, she will bark at first, and then calm down appropriately when told to do so. She is a bit shy initially. Although she does not bark excessively, she will bark when her foster siblings do.

Luna is a typical puppy with lots of puppy energy. She loves to lay next to you when you are sleeping or watching TV, but when you get up she’s right there with you under foot making sure you don’t any help with anything. She will follow you everywhere, and i do mean everywhere…..making sure you are never alone. She loves to be out in the yard running around playing with her siblings. We are working on leash walking.

Luna is being spayed on August 24th and will be available early September.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
