Adoptable Dachshund Luke – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Luke

Adoptable Dachshund Luke is a handsome senior who still enjoys life! He trots when he walks and barks to get attention. Luke enjoys his toys and plays with his foster sister. He minds very well and is housebroken.

Adoptable Dachshund Luke

Luke was a surrender to LRDR as his owner could no longer take care of him, not because of any faults of his. This sweet boy needs a final forever loving home! Luke had spinal surgery 4 years ago, so he needs to walk with a harness as well as a leash to support his back.

Adoptable Dachshund Luke

Adoptable Dachshund Luke will require some expense to care for as he is on permanent medication for a heart murmur and high liver enzymes. These medications cost approximately $50 per month. Luke has food allergies, so he must be on a special food that is obtained by prescription.  His foster uses Royal Canin-Ultamino, and the cost is $109 for a 20 lb bag from Chewy.

Adoptable Dachshund Luke – 14 years – 14 lbs

Luke sleeps in a dog bed that is in the room; therefore, no need for a crate. He enjoys sleeping under a blanket to both sleep and nap.  Even with the extra costs, there is someone out there with the heart to love an older boy! His look of love he gives is worth a million!

Adoptable Dachshund Luke

Adoptable Dachshund Luke had his Senior Vet Check, Medication (permanent – like for seizure treatment), Nail Trim, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication.

Luke’s idea of the perfect home includes a possible sibling to snuggle and play with. He would like to have someone around a good bit because he enjoys the company. He needs someone who appreciates his silly side, can pay for his medication and special food, and someone who understands the importance of being gentle with his back.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
