Adoptable Dachshund Sheldon Cooper – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Sheldon Cooper

Four-year-old Sheldon Cooper has many common dachshund traits. He is smart, stubborn, sweet, cuddly, and playful. Some of his favorite activities include lizard hunting and exploring the backyard.

Sheldon Cooper

Sheldon did reside with a senior doxie in his original foster home. He gets along well with him, and they have an understanding, that even when Sheldon Cooper asks nicely to play, sometimes the resident doxie doesn’t want to play. *His foster had to go on vacation and he is adjusting to his new foster sibling.

Sheldon doesn’t show any signs of aggression with toys or food. He has chewed on his bed and blanket, but nothing that is not his in the home.

Important information: A few things Sheldon doesn’t care for, include thunderstorms and being picked up without permission. He also does not like to be rushed. Foster mom says that patience is needed while you get to know him.

Sheldon Cooper

Sheldon does well when he meets new people. He isn’t shy and loves a good belly rub! Sheldon has experience living with an older child and gets along with small dogs.

He has a loud booming “dachshund” voice and would likely not be the best fit for an apartment lifestyle. He does stop barking when told to stop. He does best in a quiet atmosphere.

Sheldon Cooper is a smart boy who responds to “come, stay, quiet” He’s REALLY good at “STAY” but his doxie stubborn can make the other commands a bit of a challenge, but he WILL respond to them!

We are unsure of how he is with cats, small kids, and large dogs but because of his prey drive with lizards, we don’t recommend cats. In the home, Sheldon Cooper prefers to sleep in his open crate. This is his safe space.

In our care he has received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Spay or Neuter, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication
