Adoptable Dachshund Joy – Pending

Adoptable Dachshund Joy is a literal joy to be around! Although she is paralyzed and needs some extra TLC, she gets around very well and gets along with everyone!

Adoptable Dachshund Joy

She will do best in a home where someone is home most of the time, but is suprisingly easy to care for. Upon arrival at her foster’s home, she was a bit nervous about time alone, but has adjusted extremely well. Most dogs need an adjustment period.

In our care, she has received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication

Adoptable Dachshund Joy

Joy likes everyone! She is friendly with new dogs and people alike. Joy is also fine with cats. In the car, she is happy, and everywhere she goes, she’s a happy girl. There is no food or toy aggression. There has been no need to use a crate and to our knowledge, she is not crate trained.

Sleeping in her dog bed, she does well through the night. She is house trained, but wears a diaper much of the time. It is not difficult to deal with.

Adoptable Dachshund Joy

Walks are one of her favorite things and she’s very fast in her doggie wheel chair. She’s good on the leash. In the house, she can get around with the chair or without it.

Adoptable Dachshund Joy

She’s good with kids of all ages, although, very young ones would need to be supervised to make sure she didn’t get hurt. Dachshund spines are fragile and she has limited mobility because of her paralysis.

Dachshund Joy – 5 yrs, 18 lbs

Joy is a fabulous dog. She would play with her ball all day long if allowed. She is paraylyzed but gets around easily either in her wheelchair or not. She is a lot of fun. Her name is extremely fitting as she brinds joy to those around her! This sweetheart dog has plenty of life left to live and wants nothing more than to share her love. The simple care she requires is nothing compared to the love and joy she has to offer! Adoption fee is $150 due to special needs.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
