Adoptable Dachshund Gator, an 8-year-old, 20-pound dachshund with a big personality packed into a small body! This older gentleman has mastered the art of lap lounging – his favorite move is hopping up and doing a full-body plop right onto you, then resting his little face against yours for kisses. 🥹
Gator is good on a leash, enjoys walks and car rides, and loves curling up under the covers to sleep near your head. He’s perfectly content being your one-and-only or sharing his space with other dogs (big or small). He’s not a fan of cats, though – he’ll happily chase them away – and he’s not recommended for homes with kids, as he can be grumpy and has a tendency to play bite or nip.
Important: Because Gator has a history of biting and nipping, he will need a patient owner who understands dogs behavior and will be respectful of his boundaries.

He’s still working on house training (marks occasionally but will use pee pads and the dog door). He’s learning that sharing food and toys isn’t so bad. Gator can be timid with men at first, but he warms up once he feels safe.
He’s not anxious, doesn’t mind loud noises or thunder, but he definitely has something to say. He barks at noises and joins in if his foster siblings do too.

Vetting and Medical
In our care, Gator has received a vet check and vaccines.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Adoptable Dachshund Gator – 8 years old, 20 pounds
If you’re looking for a sweet, quirky, Netflix-and-chill companion with a little sass and a lot of heart, Gator is your guy. 💚 Adoption Fee: $250.
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
