Adoptable Dachshund Charley – Adopted

Adoptable dachshund Charley is a loyal senior companion. He was well loved by his previous family and current fosters (Charley is King!). Belly rubs, chin scratches and “giving paw” for treats are some of the little things he loves most.

Charley needs a home where he can be with his person for most parts of the day, since he does have anxiety when left alone. He is house-trained if foster mom is home, however, he does potty in the house when she is gone. He also scratches at the door and whines.

If you’re looking for a buddy to go on car rides with, Charley is your man. He does well in the car and walking on his lead. This boy loves sniffing the grass and listens well to his foster mom during walks, unless of course it is raining. He is a dachshund!

It is important to note that Charley is indifferent with cats but does not get along well with other dogs. He shows food aggression and is territorial. We are unsure of how Charley would do in a home with children. Charley will bark at strangers but, once he knows them, he quickly warms up to them and becomes their friend.

You can crate Charley; however, he prefers to sleep in his own dog bed outside of the crate. He also enjoys lounging on the sectional and being king of the house.

Adoptable Dachshund Charley – 12 years 16 pounds

This twelve-year-old boy has been vetted and is ready for adoption. The ideal forever home for Charley would have an adult companion around for most of the day and no other dogs in the home. Car rides, walks around the block and belly rubs are also a must!

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
