Adoptable Dachshund Manchi (26-111)

🐾 Meet Manchi – The Sweetest Little Shadow You’ll Ever Have! 🐾

At 15 years young and 18.2 lbs.,

Manchi proves that age is just a number. This precious senior dachshund has a heart overflowing with love and is looking for one thing—a peaceful home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by kindness.

His foster says Manchi has the softest fur she’s ever felt, and once you start rubbing his belly, you’ll quickly discover his favorite pastime. He lives for gentle pets, quiet companionship, and simply being close to the people he loves. If you’re sitting down, don’t be surprised if he quietly settles right on your feet just to be near you.

Manchi is the definition of an old soul—calm, gentle, and incredibly loving.

🐶 About Manchi

  • 🎂 Age: 15 years
  • ⚖️ Weight: 18.2 lbs.
  • 🐾 Breed: Dachshund
  • 🏡 Needs: A patient family with a securely fenced yard

❤️ Personality

Manchi has never met a stranger. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and happily accepts all the attention you’re willing to give.

His favorite things include:

Belly rubs
Gentle pets
Long naps
Following his people from room to room
Sampling every dog bed in the house (he’s currently tested all 11 in his foster home!)

He’s happiest simply sharing space with the people he loves.

🐕 Dog, Cat & Kid Friendly

  • ✅ Does well with other small dogs
  • 🐶 Politely introduces himself with an enthusiastic sniff before going about his day
  • ❓ Large dogs unknown
  • ❓ Cats unknown
  • 👧 Loves gentle, respectful children

🚶 Exercise & Outdoor Time

Manchi isn’t interested in neighborhood walks anymore.

Instead, he enjoys leisurely exploring a securely fenced backyard, soaking up the sunshine, and relaxing on the patio while his family keeps an eye on him.

Because he is deaf and his vision is declining, a fenced yard is essential to keep him safe.

🚽 House Manners

Good news—Manchi is house trained!

He happily goes outside several times each day and has a predictable routine that makes caring for him easy.

🛏️ Bedtime

Manchi is crate trained and considers his crate his daytime safe place.

When nighttime comes, however, he’d much rather curl up in a cozy dog bed close to his family. He may bark for a minute or two while everyone settles in, but then he’s content to sleep peacefully nearby.

🍽️ Mealtime

Manchi does have one senior quirk—he prefers not to share his meals.

He can be food protective around other dogs, so he simply eats in his crate while everyone else is fed separately. His foster says this routine works beautifully.

🚗 Car Rides

Car rides aren’t Manchi’s favorite. He tends to whimper during trips, even if he’s riding in someone’s lap, so he’d do best in a home where frequent travel isn’t necessary.

💙 Special Needs

Like many senior dogs, Manchi has a few age-related challenges:

  • 👂 Deaf
  • 👀 Vision is declining
  • ✋ Responds to some hand signals
  • 🤲 Prefers not to be picked up

What he needs isn’t complicated—a patient family willing to help him navigate life safely and shower him with the love he’s so eager to return.

Senior dogs have a special kind of magic!

They don’t ask for much—just a soft bed, a safe place to call home, and someone to love.

In return, they give quiet companionship, unwavering loyalty, and a grateful heart.

Manchi is ready to spend his retirement as someone’s cherished best friend. If you’ve been searching for a calm, affectionate companion who simply wants to be close to you, this sweet little gentleman is waiting.  Adoption Fee: $150

Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
