Adoptable Senior Waife – Adopted!

Adoptable Senior Waife (aka Mr. Waffles)  is a sweetheart of a dachshund. He has a spring in his step and is the perfect companion. Waife loves to sleep in the bed, on the couch, in the recliner, and in the car.  He’s a couch potatoes best friend!

Adoptable Senior Waife

Waife is an elder gentleman of 13 pounds, and is 13 years old. He requires a permanent seizure control medication. Waife has already had a Vet Check, one or more Vaccines, and a Dental Exam.

Coming from a home with other dogs, he’s able to get along with a pal or two. Unfortunately, he has a collapsed trachea which causes him to bark softly. He barks appropriately at loud noises and if someone comes to the door. His hearing is great, so this ‘ole boy is still on the job guarding the house, even as a retired senior!

As a senior dog, he would do best in a quiet home with adults or teens. Waife prefers short walks with lots of stopping and sniffing. He also loves to sit in a stroller as he enjoys his owner pushing him so he can enjoy the scenery. Although he has a talent for sleeping, being outdoors obviously makes him happy! If you’re interested in getting him outside, he’ll enjoy being with you, as long as he doesn’t have to work at it too hard.

Waife is not interested in toys unless there’s a treat involved. He loves riding in a vehicle and usually just sleeps along the way. He’s good about doing his duty outside, but he will also use pee pads as long as he’s shown where they are. He is housebroken.

Waife (or our lil Waffles) is a real sweetheart of a dog. He may be older, but he deserves a forever home full of love and compassion. He’ll be your best friend and constant companion if you’ll let him!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
