Meet Adoptable Mix Chip! Chip is 8 years old, weighs approximately 12 pounds, and cannot wait to meet his forever family. This easy-going sweetheart will be sure to fill his forever family’s days with love and laughter with his cute face and funny antics.

Chip is dog-friendly and has loved being around other dogs, both big and small. He loves cuddling up to his foster siblings or following the other dogs around the yard. He is not big on playing with other pups, but definitely enjoys the company and loves to play every once in a while. We are unsure how Chip would do around cats as he has not been around them since coming to the rescue, but we don’t foresee there being any issues there. He came from a home with older children and did great there and we think he would do great with younger children too as long as they are respectful of dog boundaries.

Chip enjoys walks and does very well on leash, although he much prefers the backyard and would be content spending most of his time prancing around the yard and sniffing all the scents. Chip is fully house-trained and he is crate-trained as well, although he has only been crated for one night in his foster home. Chip has done well given free-roam so he has not needed to be crated after his first night.

Chip does seem to have some separation anxiety, but it is greatly helped by being left alone with the other dogs so having another dog in the house would be ideal for him! If you leave Chip in one area of the house while you are in another, he will definitely let you know that he’s not happy with you. He just wants to be by his person’s side as much as possible! Chip is not a big barker a majority of the time but sometimes he can be quite yappy like when he wants attention, feels like his human is too far away from him, or when the doorbell rings. He has shown no food or toy aggression while in his foster home.

Chips enjoys lounging around on the different dog beds in his foster home throughout the day, but at night he wants to be snuggled up to his humans on the big bed. He just loves cuddling up with his humans and his foster siblings and would be happy to spend all day snuggling. A forever home that lets him sleep in the big bed with his humans will be his dream come true!

Chip enjoys car rides and is a great passenger for them! He also loves meeting new people and new pups too. He is a friendly, social little guy who just adores everyone he meets. He will make the perfect companion for someone who is looking for a little shadow as he loves to follow your every move.

Vetting and Medical
In our care, Chip has received all of the following: Vet Check, 1 or More Vaccines, Dental Exam, Nails Trimmed, Heartworm Testing and Medication
Healthwise, Chip is a very healthy little guy! The only thing to note is that he does have a grade 3 heart murmur but as of now, he shows no signs of it and it does not bother him. It may or may not need further treatment down the road, so it is important for his adopter to be aware and mindful of this.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!
