Adoptable Dachshund Rocky – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Rocky

Adoptable dachshund Rocky has come SO FAR since we received him at Low Rider. He was hit by a car causing him pain and weak back legs. Since then, he’s regained strength and can now go on daily walks and runs a little bit when he’s excited. He’s had a hard life and deserves a home that loves him.

Foster mom says glucosamine is important in his life to keep him comfortable. He is a bit hump backed and it does get more pronounced when he over does it. Rocky is not up for long walks quite yet, but we are impressed with his improvements!

This boy gets along well with dogs his size. We’re unsure of how he would interact with cats and small children. He seems friendly with children in the neighborhood on his daily walk. Rocky is house trained. He can use a doggy door, however, prefers the softer plastic one at his foster home.

Being twelve years old, Rocky has shown some signs of hearing loss. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by loud noises, most likely because he can’t hear well. Foster mom uses loud claps to get his attention.

Car rides are not his favorite activity. They make him anxious. New people and new small dogs are okay in his book! Rocky shows no sign of food or toy aggression.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
