Adoptable dachshund JoJo is a sweet and snuggly little girl who wants nothing more than to sit on your lap all day and night. She is one and a half years old and weighs about eight pounds. Jojo is deaf but this doesn’t impact her daily life or happiness in any way.
Jojo is quite a smart girl! She knows how to sit with a hand command and would most likely learn new tricks given the opportunity. She does well during bath time and remains calm. Jojo is crate trained if necessary (only cries for a short bit and then settles down). Jojo knows how to walk on leash with a harness. She also does really well in the car!
In the home, Jojo will follow you everywhere you go! She likes to be connected to her person most of the day and would prefer to sleep next to you. Jojo likes to chew on her Nylabone, loves kibble and chewy treats. Jojo doesn’t play much with toys. She is completely house trained and looks forward to going outside to go potty. Sometimes she likes to lay in the sunshine and other times she will run and play in the backyard.
We believe Jojo is best suited in a home with a single person or maybe a couple that doesn’t have much company that comes over and definitely no young children in the home. Jojo is not friendly when she meets new people. She barks, growls and will nip at ankles if she feels threatened. She is scared in situations with new people, however, foster mom wouldn’t describe her as aggressive. She simply needs time to trust.
We are unsure if Jojo would be comfortable with large dogs and cats. She does like other small dogs and doesn’t show any food or toy aggression. We believe she would be happy living with another small, calm dog.

Adoptable Dachshund JoJo is a 1.5 year old, sweet and snuggly little 8-9 pound dapple mini Doxie girl. She is deaf and wants nothing more than to sit on your lap all day and night. She would do well with another calm, little dog and an individual or couple without much company. Ideally, she would be able to sleep with her human, enjoy the yard a bit, and be able to follow her favorite person around everywhere in the house. She doesn’t need to spend too much time alone. *Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
