Adoptable Dachshund Hunter – Adopted

Adoptable dachshund Hunter is now pending adoption.

Adoptable Dachshund Hunter

Adoptable Dachshund Hunter is a 4-year-old black and tan doxie sweetheart! He has been through some trauma, so he is very cautious around new people. Hunter will do well in a quiet home with adult and older children (or no children) that can provide him a good routine.

Adoptable Dachshund Hunter

This cutie pie is just 4 years old and weighs 19 pounds. Hunter likes smaller dogs and wants to play with them, however, he is unaware of how rambunctious he is and he might scare off other small dogs. He barks at big dogs he sees around the neighborhood, and is not fond of cats.

Hunter loves to go on walks!! He is a good boy and walks a steady pace. If you allow him to run, he will run! He doesn’t like to walk near busy roads as the loud cars scare him.

Adoptable Dachshund Hunter

His trauma has caused him to pause before meeting new people (he must be leashed), but once he learns to trust, he has the biggest heart.

Hunter loves to be outside and watch for squirrels and lizards. He also loves going for walks and checking out the neighborhood scene. When he’s not out and about, Hunter is very content to attack his toys and won’t stop until he gets the squeaker out!! Once the squeaker is out and the threat is neutralized, Hunter is content to curl up next to you and take an afternoon snooze.

Adoptable Dachshund Hunter

He is completely housebroken and knows exactly what to do when he’s outside. He has a big heart and so much love to give! Once he trusts you, he will ask for nonstop belly rubs and give unlimited kisses!! Hunter is a sweet boy that needs the perfect family to help him learn to trust again!

If you believe you could provide the safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
