💕 Meet Freya – A Tiny Dachshund with a Big Personality! 🐾
🐶 Name: Freya
🎂 Age: 2 years
⚖️ Weight: 9 lbs.
♀️ Gender: Female
Freya is a sweet little dachshund weighing just 9 pounds, but she’s packed with personality! Friendly, affectionate, and full of sass, she loves being with her people and is happiest curled up beside them. Whether she’s sitting next to you on the couch, giving you face kisses, or burrowing under the blankets at bedtime, Freya wants nothing more than to be close to the people she loves.

🐾 Compatibility
🐶 Other Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs under 25 lbs. She integrated well with her foster family’s dogs. She may occasionally react to dogs while out on walks, but she’s been making great progress with training.
🐱 Cats: Unknown
👧 Children: Unknown
🚶 Walks & Exercise
✔️ Walks well on a leash and enjoys getting out for walks.
She sometimes reacts when another dog walks by, but her foster has been working with her, and she continues to improve. A securely fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus, as she enjoys sunbathing in the grass.
🏡 House Training
🚽 Freya is mostly house trained.
She uses the dog door but also likes her person to go outside with her. Like many dachshunds, she can be wonderfully stubborn and doesn’t always potty when you think she should. Taking her out before bedtime usually means she’ll make it through the night until morning.
🛏️ Sleeping & Crate
🛏️ Crate trained, although it isn’t her favorite place. She may cry for a few minutes before settling down.
During the day she’ll happily nap in a dog bed, but at night she insists on sleeping in the big bed with her person. Sometimes she’ll burrow under the blankets, but she always wants to be touching you.

🍖 Food & Toys
🦴 Freya has shown no food or toy aggression.
🚗 Car Rides
🚙 Freya enjoys riding in the car and would much rather ride on her person’s lap. When placed in a small carrier, she may cry briefly before relaxing for the remainder of the trip.
🥰 Personality
❤️ Freya is friendly when meeting new people, especially if they approach her slowly and let her greet them at her own pace.
🐕 She’s friendly with new dogs and did very well meeting her foster family’s dogs.
😊 She is not shy or timid and has a confident, happy personality.
💔 Freya does have a little separation anxiety when you first leave. She’ll cry initially, but she settles quickly and is calm by the time you return home.
🔇 She isn’t much of a barker. Most of the time she’ll only join in if the other dogs start barking.
She absolutely loves attention and being near her people. If you’ve been gone, she’ll greet you with so much excitement that her joyful little squeals have actually triggered her foster’s Apple Watch loud noise alert! She adores giving face kisses, snuggling on the couch, and following her people from room to room.
Freya also has plenty of classic dachshund charm. She has perfected the famous “doxie side eye,” can be delightfully stubborn, and is surprisingly athletic—she’s quite the jumper! Her foster has been working on discouraging the jumping, but she’s incredibly quick. While she can become a little protective of her favorite people, it has not caused any issues.
Adoptable Dachshund Freya, 2 years old, 9 lbs.
