Felix is a gentle, loving little dachshund with the sweetest personality. Once he trusts you, he’ll completely melt into your arms and happily claim a spot on your lap. This handsome boy has an adorable little wiggle-and-hop that will make you smile every day!

🐾 About Felix
🐱 Cats: Good with cats! Foster took him to a home with a cat, and Felix simply avoided him.
🐕 Dogs: Does not currently like other dogs, but he’s working on it and making progress.
👶 Children: Unknown.
🚶 Leash Skills: Great on a leash and absolutely loves his walks!
🏠 House Training: Potty trained! He goes outside regularly and is also a pro at using potty pads.
🚫 Crate: Has never been crated. His foster initially gated off the kitchen, but Felix does great with free roam of the house.
🛏️ Sleeping Habits: During the day, he enjoys relaxing in his dog bed. At night, his favorite place is burrowed deep under the covers at the bottom of his foster’s bed.
🚗 Car Rides: Loves them!
👋 Meeting New People: Felix is fearful and timid when meeting new people. The best approach is “No Look, No Touch, No Talk.” He needs time to decide you’re safe, but with patience and consistency, he comes around. It may take a week or so, but once he trusts you, you’ll have a loyal companion for life.
💙 Separation Anxiety: Felix does have some separation anxiety, but he has learned that his foster always comes back and now settles well when left alone.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
