Adoptable Dachshund Minnie – ADOPTED

Adoptable Dachshund Minnie is only 2 years old and weighs just 10 pounds who enjoys playing and snuggling with other small dogs. As far as cats go, well, Minnie believes they are for chasing!

Adoptable Dachshund Minnie

Minnie does well with younger children but will growl if she does not feel like playing. She’s not aggressive, but is simply speaking her mind and saying, “Leave me alone.”

Although fully house-trained, Minnie does not walk well on a leash. She would need training to learn this new trick, but she’s a smart girl and with practice (and treats) there is hope. For now, she prefers to lay in the sun catching some rays, and plays in the yard.

She is crate-trained. Minnie is fine in a crate while your away and will go in the crate without resistance, especially if her bed is in the crate. Minnie does fine being alone for at least short periods of time. Her fosters work from home, so she’s not alone for more than a few hours.

She uses a dog bed and also enjoys sleeping in the big bed with her foster mommy. There have been no signs of toy or food aggression. Car rides appear to make her nervous. Although she does okay, it makes her anxious.

New people also make her a bit anxious. She isn’t aggressive, but we wouldn’t call her friendly, until she gets to know whom she is dealing with. Once Minnie is secure in the knowledge that the intruder isn’t suspect, she calms down. We would call her shy.

Minnie doesn’t bark excessively, but again with the stranger thing, she will bark when someone approaches the house.

In our care, she has received: Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication. Her vaccines are up to date. She has an appointment to get her nails trimmed.

Minnie is very sweet and enjoys spending time with her humans. She is house trained and crate trained. She doesn’t love walks on the leash, but she loves to run around and sun herself in a fenced in yard. She’s a good eater and loves her treats. She is working on being more comfortable around strangers. Adoption fee $350
