Amelia Davila was born on October 14, 1943 and left us to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
“My mom was so grateful for your organization. She spoke of it often and said you were all angels for the work that you do. Although my mom was the neighborhood animal whisperer for all dogs and cats big and small, and loved all of her fur babies, there was a special place in her heart for her dachshunds.” ~ Jane Ferrell
Those who knew her understand she was such a giver! She dedicated her life helping not only people, but all of her fur babies. Whenever there was a dog in need they somehow ended up at her doorstep.
Amelia was first introduced to Low Rider through volunteer, Sharon Smith, over 10+ years ago, before it even became Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida!
“You were angels when my mom most needed help. She would never give up any of her fur babies unless it was to turn them over to the dachshund rescue. She had complete trust in the organization.” ~ Jane Ferrell
Amelia was a strong woman and she fought a hard battle with cancer during the past 12 months. During this time, Low Rider was able to help re-home her fur babies so that she could focus on her health.
In her honor and in lieu of flowers, we would like for friends and family to donate to Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida in her memory. She will be smiling down from heaven knowing that she will still be helping her fur babies.
